The inlegg are “Johan Ursin Jentoft Hartviksen F. 1820” and “Peder Nielsen fra Storjord, når døde han?” – I would like to know too.

What I Know – My grandfather Oskar Henning Meyer Johansen [1899-1941] one of 5 children to Christian Johann Nergaard Johannessen, Slydahl, Borge [1877 – 1945] and Oline Olesdatter [26 Oct 1875 Maalselven -1906].
Oline’s mother was Nikoline Johnette Pedersdatter also known as “Finn-Nikoline” [10 Mar 1840 Maalselv – chrisend 31 May 1840, Lenvik kirke. Nickoline had 3 partners – She m; Mikal Markusen 9 Nov 1863, Lenvik kirke they had 2 children Martin Severin Mikalsen [16 Jun 1863 -1891] and Randine Bertine Mikalsdatter [22 May 1865] – Mikal died 7 Aug 1871.
Oline’s father was Ole Eilevsen [28 Feb 1863 Haugstveit, Hosanger – died 3 Nov 1904 Olsnesset, Vaagan, Lofoten.] Ole was married to Maria Johannesdatter [1833 Osteroy -1904 Vaagen] at the time of Oline’s birth. I will look in to Ole and Maria’s children later.
Nikoline’s last partner was Hartvik Jentoft Jensen [10 Aug 1819, Buksnes, Nordland -1909] they married 23 Oct 1899. In connection with this Nikoline is mention in the “bygdebook for Borge bd. 3 side 471. I have still to acquire this book to see it for myself. They lived at Bjørnerøya. It was sold 1911 by “tvangsauksjon”.
Nikoline was the youngest of 4 children to “flyttsamer” Kirsten Larsdatter and Peder Nielsen m; 2.9.1832 – Lenvik kirke. Ellen Kirstin born 16.10.1831, froze to death April 1840- Reinskallen. Lars Niels born 1.7.1833 marred Marie Hansdatter 16.1.1890, Maalselv [I believe both may have been married before]. Ole born 3.12. 1837, drowned June 1852, Maalselv.
Kirsten’s parents were Elen Pedersdatter and Lars Pedersen born ca. 1775. Both Kirsten and Peder were probably born in Sweden around 1806. They lived at Storjord in 1840. In 1865 cences Kirsten is at Skardahl a widow working for her food; she died 9.5.1879, Foshoug, Målselvfossen.
To gain a little knowledge of Same life I have ordered a book kindly recommended to me on the Same part of the forum. A little understanding of their movement and travel would probably be of benefit as my geographical knowledge of the north of Norway and Sweden is limited as well as life there in the 1800’s and earlier. I also understand from reading the forum that the Same may have spelled their names different than the priests interpretation of it.
