Early Gedcom Version Specs

Legg inn av Peter J Seymour » 19. januar 2006 kl. 10.13

I've been looking around for the spec for early Gedcom versions (for
instance 4.0) without success. The most I can find is references to
some of the content. But why would you want it, you ask. I'm fine tuning
a Gedcom input module and I am trying to make sure that everything I do
has a documented basis.
Any ideas anyone?

The GEDCOM standard comes from the Family History Department; why not get
in touch with them? From the GEDCOM 5.5 standard:

Here's version 5.3 -

and version 5.4 -

http://www.lege.com/gedcom54.html

Can't find 3.0 or 4.0 -- maybe that's because they were released in the
1980's and hence too ancient to be on the web. But already 5.3 and 5.4 are
radically different!
