Kanskje skiftet navn både selv og datter etter giftermål, kanskje utvandret? På forhånd takk for hjelp!

Vi må lete etter hvem barnet reiste sammen med. Billetten var betalt i Amerika, sannsynligvis slekt. Noen møtte henne på kaia, barn fikk ikke gå i land alene. I Ishpeming var det mange orkdalinger.

Ingeborg J. 'Pickles' Burnside, 97, of Ashland, passed away Saturday, November 8, 2008, at St. Mary's Medical Center, Duluth. She was born September 15, 1911, in the house in which she spent her entire life in Ashland, the daughter of Aksel and Olga (Hovseth) Holter. In 1929, she graduated from Ashland High School and then attended Ashland County Normal Teachers College. She taught first through eighth grade in Glidden for a year and then taught primary grades in Marengo and Moquah for five years.
On February 1, 1947, she married Norman Burnside in Ashland. She managed a neighborhood grocery store for several years and then worked as a clerk at JC Penney's for a year. Four two years, she worked for Angvick's Furniture Store. Ingeborg also worked as a nurse's aide for 10 years at Trinity Hospital in Ashland.
She was an active member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Ashland. Ingeborg served as a Sunday School teacher, Bible study teacher, choir member and for many years did quilting for the church. She was a delegate to Lutheran League Conventions. Ingeborg enjoyed skiing, hiking, biking, camping, gardening, baking bread and making cookies.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan (Robert "Bill")Siedlecki, Menomonie; a son, Bishop Bruce (Cynthia) Burnside, Madison; four grandchildren, Jeffrey (Tanya) Siedlecki, Patra Siedlecki, Jill (Adam) Wedlund and Maya Ward. five step-grandchildren, Jody (Jim)Halverson, Jennifer (Rod) Franta, Jill (Tony) Orhn, Janna (Gary) Huset and Jim (Amy) Jenkins; a great-granddaughter, Molly Siedlecki; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Norman on September 1, 2001; and four brothers, Percival 'Cap' Holter, Arne Holter, Lawrence Holter and Ingvar Holter.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, November 14, 2008, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Ashland, with Pastor Dale Chesley officating.
Interment will take place in Mt. Hope Cemetery following lunch at the church.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Arrangements are made by Frost Home for Funerals.
