Den eneste opplysning jeg har etter det er at Sirdalsboka Bind 1 s.266 sier at han døde ung i New York.
Er det mulig å finne ut når han døde og kanskje dødsårsak ?

It appears they both lived near or at the same farm...Sinnes

I noticed from the birth info on your Eilef...he had a "Jacobsen" as a fadder (God-father)when
he was baptized. I have difficulty reading that old script.

I am so grateful for your involvement in my case!
Peter Kviteland must have been a friend of Eilef,I cannot find kinship between them.He was born on a farm about 40 km from where Eilef was born.In Sirdalsboka is mentioned that Eilef was not married.

It is hard for me to write in Norwegian...but I can understand it (pretty well!).

I wonder why it was written (it was thought) that Eilef died (young) in New York....was
there any basis for this?

Since he arrived in Canada...it seems going "south" to New York would be odd.
I tried to search the Rolette,ND area for "Eilef Peterson"...no luck with that!..but
there ARE lots of Petersons!! ...and perhaps he went some place else.

Perhaps someone with Ancestry can try and find him in the 1915 North Dakota (state) census....assuming he went to North Dakota! I do not have Ancestry.

Can someone with Ancestry find Peter Kviteland/Kvideland in 1915 in ND?

OK...so Peter and Eilef must have been friends from Norway...but not relatives.

This "Tore Kvideland" (f. 1886) must be a relative..maybe a brother to Peter...(WW1 draft
record for Tore)

Perhaps I am off the track...but I found Peter Gilge, 1915 Rolette, ND (who "Peter" Kvideland lived with in the 1920 census).
Looked around for Kvideland fellows (and Sinnes) in 1915 Rolette...no luck

Oh it is hard to give up...even on difficult cases!
Perhaps Peter (and Eilef??) were going (emigrating) to Peter's brother Thore/Tore Kvideland in 1914
the 1930 census shows that Tore emigrated in 1905...

Thore og Peter Kvideland hadde en bror,Ludvig,som også var i Amerika en tur.
Ludvig ble enkemann i 1916,hadde da 6 barn med Ingeborg f.Lanes.
Alle tre brørne kom hjem igjen og døde i Norge.
Litt interesant er at Ludvig i 1920 ble gift med enken Oline Østebø som var en eldre søster til Eilef Sinnes.Oline ble enke i 1915.De ble skilt etter bare 5 års ekteskap.De hadde 1 barn som døde i 1993 uten livsarvinger.
Jeg har forsøkt å finne Eilef i folketellingen i 1915 uten hell.
Kan han ha ombestemt seg og reist mot New York ??

Døde noen av foreldrene etter at han dro? Har du sjekket dødsfallsmeldinger og eventuelle arveoppgjør om han står oppført som arving?

I dødsfallmeldingen hans står inkje aa skifte.
