I search for descendants of Verner/Werner Andreas Krogen born 16. of February 1903 in Ålesund. He got married to a lady named Delie, who was from Sweden, I have heard.
They lived in Canada and had one child; Carol.

Carol came to Norway and visited my family when I was a little girl, but I and the rest of my family don't remember what Carol's last name was. It was told that Carol had two or tree children.

Can anyone please help me find out more about Carol and her children.

Hi Anne,

From what I've seen here and discovered myself, it seems the following:

Werner Krogen and Delie Krogen (née Wickman) applied in 1938 to become naturalised British Subjects while living in Fort William (now a part of the City of Thunder Bay), Province of Ontario, Canada. This process would have taken one to two years to complete.

Both Werner and Delie lived their entire life together in in Fort William. Werner died there on June 22, 1982 and Delie died there on August 11, 1983. They used the surname 'Crogan'. I could not get a copy of their obituaries, which appear in the local Thunder Bay newspaper, The Thunder Bay Chronicle-Journal. Werner's obituary appears in the June 23, 1982 edition of the Chroncile-Journal (p. 26), while Delie's appears in the August 13, 1983 edition (p. 23). You could contact the Chronicle-Journal to see if they can send you a re-print of each page, on the assumption that each obituary will provide you with information on Carol. If the newspaper itself cannot be of help, you could try the Thunder Bay Public Library. Perhaps someone there can be of help.

I can tell you that in 1962 she was still a spinster (employed as a stenographer), as she appears with her parents on a list of voters enumerated for the Canadian national election of that year.

I cannot tell you when she was born as birth records in Canada are released to the public only after 97 years have passed.

As you probably know, Werner Krogen, the younger, was stillborn, on December 26, 1932.

If all else fails, and you cannot obtain the obituaries in the manners in which I suggest above, please let me know.

Greetings from Canada! Carol McNally is my mother. Werner and Delie are my grandparents. My youngest brother Mike discovered this post while researching grandfather's history. We would love to hear from you. Hopefully you are still active on this site - it's been a few years since your post.
