Adolph Mosheim (1866-1934)emigrerte til USA i 1897 (Clermont IA).

Jeg er interessert om noen kan gi opplysninger om denne historien : Han skal ha vært med på å redde 60 Chilenske soldater fra den visse død i Andesfjellene. Når kan det ha vært, og er det noe mer som kan fortelles om denne redningsaksjonen ??

Her står det en del om Adolph Mosheim, blant annet at han var på en skiekspedisjon i Andes 1891. Helt nederst på siden er det henvist til flere avisartikler/aviser.

Denne Adolph Mosheim har etter det jeg har fått vite blitt president i "Sons of Norway "losjen i California (rundt 1912).

Jeg leter etter portrett av han, men har ikke funnet noe. Er det mulig å finne ?

I don't know how much you have on Adolph and family.

Adolph, Inga and their 7 year old daughter live in San Francisco, CA as listed in the 1910 census.
His name was indexed as Adolf Mosheirre...he was married about 1893 (in Norway I guess?).

Anyway, I don't know if there was only a California "chapter" in 1912...now each state in the USA, often has several chapters ("clubs") for Sons of Norway.

Perhaps now the local San Francisco Sons of Norway may have more info on Adolph...and perhaps a picture (photo) of him.
Need to find the contact info. for San Francisco Sons of Norway.

Er interessert i dødsår for Adolf, Inga og Gudrun. Likedan når og hvor Adolf og Inga gifte seg.

Fra et lite slektsregister , far 194o åra - hvor neppe alt er riktig - står det :

Adolf Mosling Mosheim (Andersen) f. 9/5 1866 d. i1937 i USA - kan det være riktig ?

Inga Hansen Mosby pr. Kristiansand S d. i USA (Mosby under Oddernes). Ut fra Ingas alder i 1910 er hun f. ca. 1872.

Gudrun som var 7 år i 1910 gift med Litograf John D. Crockett, Portland Oregon. Hun oppgis å være d.

Vider sies det om Mosheim : Var ingeniør i San Francisco.

Hei. Adolf Mosheim giftet seg 3/6-1893 i Oddernes (dissentere) med Inga Marie Hansen f. 1872 Oddernes. Han kalles da materialforvalter ved jernbanen. Så da var det på plass.

Spørsmålet er dødsår for familiens medlemmer ??

In the 1940 census, John Crocket is a widow...age 48. His daughter Barbara age 12 is living with him.
In 1930, John D. Crocket (b. 1891) is in Maplewood, Multnomah county, Oregon.
Grudrun is called Gertrude ..daughter Barbara is 2.

I found that Gertrude Crockett died Dec. 11, 1936. (birth year is listed as "unknown")

Yes, I know about the Mosheim Dome found it a few days ago.

About "Sons of Norway". It seems he was president for a committe that worked with a statue in connection with Panama-Pacific Exposition in 1912. A kind of statue that was raised in 1930 after Roald Amundsen`s death - Adolf has written the inscription. Well, I cannot see he was president for a part of Sons of Norway. But will try the local in San Francisco that you gave me address for.

Gertrude died 1936. Barbara Marilyn born 1928 died 1994 in Oregon. She was not married.

The Molalla resident died June 17, 1994, of renal failure. She was 66.

She was born Feb. 21, 1928, in Portland, and was raised in a rural area near Portland. Her mother died when she was a child, so she spent most of her life working with and caring for her father.

She moved to Molalla in 1980, and was a member of the Church of Christ and the Molalla Senior Center.

She is survived by a cousin, Avis Crockett, Portland.

Disposition was by cremation.

Arrangements: Molalla Funeral Chapel.

Denne tråden er et par år gammel, men jeg ble i dag kontaktet av Luci J. Baker Johnson fra USA. I forbindelse med slektsgransking hadde hun kommet over en kort biografi om Adolph Mosheim i boken "The Lutheran Church and California" av Edward Martinus Stensrud.
