Baptism record 15 Feb 1795 Land, Oppland

Hello,

I am not sure if this is the place to post a request for help with transcribing a digitized parish record. I hope it is. I need help transcribing and translating a potential baptism record for my 4th great grandmother Marte Olsdatter.

The record is at Oppland county, Land, Parish register (official) nr. 6 (1784-1813), Birth and baptism records 1795, page 40. Permanent pagelink: http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:kb_read?i ... x_side=-41

She is on the right-side page, on the bottom half. I see her father's name is Ole Olsen, but I do not recognize her mother's name. FamilySearch says it is "Isbrand." I cannot find this name in Land in the 1801 census and there seems to be only one mention of this name in FamilySearch.

I would like to find this family in the 1801 census. Any help you can prived would be greatly appreciated.

Marte's parents: Ole Ols[en] & Isbrand Olsdr. Baggeruud. (I think the priest wrote the name of the mother quite wrong!)

Hi Thad, it probably make some sence if her name is Jørand, or maybe spelled Jiørand. A typical mistake in the familysearch transcriptions, you never know the origin of the person who have 'read' the original documents, it may be someone without any knowledge of norwegian names, and who wouldn't react on a funny sounding name. Never trust the familysearch findings, you sometime have to use your imagination to find the correct person.

I see that Baggeruud is in Nordsinni, Nordre Land. Do you think this Marte Olsdatter is the same one who married Johann Tomasen on 24 Feb 1819 in Fluberg, Søndre Land? If so, then this is the perfect match I have been looking for.
