I'm looking for information on Jorgen Sivertsen Tiltrum who immigrated to the U.S. in late 19th or early 20 centuries and bound for Sioux City, Iowa. He settled near the family farm of my oldefar Martinus Magnus Larsen in South Dakota. From what I know now, our farm at Tiltrem owned by Lars Magnusen was acquired by Andreas Andersen when Lars Magnusen, wife Olava, son and daughter, as well as granddaughter immigrated to the U.S. in 1881. That farm was eventually divided into two parts for Andreas' son Johan Bendikt and his stepson Sivert Johansen. I believe that Jorgen Sivertsen was the son of Sivert Johansen. I've been in contact with some of his etterkommer here in the U.S. and would like to shed some light on this family for them. Our family also used the farm name Tiltrum until my oldefar arrived in the U.S. He then only used the name Magnus Larsen. My farfar Lars Larsen's cousin Albert Ludvik and his younger brother Hans Peter also immigrated to the U.S. Albert Ludvik's wife Bolette was apparently the daughter of Andreas Andersen and sort of an aunt to Jorgen Siversen Tiltrum. All of these people lived on the farm at Tiltrem until my family left.
Tak,
Curt

You are right about the family connections, Curt.
Sivert Andreas Johansen first married Karoline Jørgine Karlsd. born 09.05. 1855, daugther to Karl Olaus Sivertsen and Inger Hansd. at Teksdalsaunet. They had 9 children, Jørgen Gerhard, their youngest child, was born 13.10.1890. Also an older brother, Peter Alfred (born 09.08.1889), immigranted to the US.

Re: Jorgen Sivertsen Tiltrum
Peter Alfred had a twin brother named Jørgen Gerhard who died January 23rd the same year he was born. You were right about the, too.
Re: Jorgen Sivertsen Tiltrum
Thanks Aud: Now I have figure out how this Sivertsen slekt relates to the Andreas Andersen family on the same farm. Hansen's book lists Sivert Johansen as a step son. Hansen didn't give the names of Andreas Andersen's two wives. It is interesting that the Tiltrum family here in the U.S. uses the 19th spelling of the name. Almost all of them are related to Jorgen Sivertsen. They live in 3-4 states: North and South Dakota, Montana, and Wyoming. It is a very uncommon name here. I'll be back with another family mystery on another person later.
