Far til Nils heitte òg Nils Nilson Bolstad f. 1848 d. 1917. Gift i Amerika omkring 1872 med Anna Larsdtr. Hjørnevik. Desse kom attende til Norge i 1880.

Vår Nils er altså fødd i Amerika!
