Braaten, Braeten, Broughton
I am looking for any information on, what became the Broughton family in America, but probably the farm name Braaten. Is there a bygdebok for this area and therefore this farm?
Information for the family has the following:
Ole b~1848 immigrated at 22 years of age.
Einar b. ~1850
Hans b. ~1854 not sure when he immigrated.
Mother is Mary and she was 53 in 1875 census of Minnesota=~1822
Don't know anything about father. Yet.

I beleave Ole nr 66, born 20. july 1847, is the right one! Same parents as Einar (Ener).
Mari and Hans emigrated in 1870. It says she was a widow???

Re: Braaten, Braeten, Broughton
I believe I've found the baptisms of Ole, Ener and Hans. Parents are Ungkarl Ole Olsen Nasset and Pige Mari Enersdatter Braaten for all 3.

Any info on the Nasset farm or Braaten farm in a bygdebok?
Thanks

Re: Braaten, Braeten, Broughton
Thanks for all the research. I have found most of that.
I didn't see that the Emigrantprotokoller had said she was a widow (E). I did look yesterday in the Burial records for Vaaga but a lot of Ole Olsens but not one that stuck out. I was looking for Braaten but maybe should have looked for Nasset. Or the age of 60 something (according to the 1865 census (60).
I sure am having problems reading the priest's writing in the early 1800's and late 1700's. Anyone have an idea who the parents are of the Ener on the right side of the left hand page?:

Thank you for all the assistance!

Re: Braaten, Braeten, Broughton
Thank you for that information. I sure have a hard time deciphering the priest's writing from that time (1800-1819 at least).
Re: Braaten, Braeten, Broughton
Could anyone help me decipher baptism #4.? I think it is the birth of Ole Olsen Nasset whose father is Ole Stenersen but I don't see any mention of mother who is supposed to be Ragnhild Syversdatter.

Hello David
I have a hard time reading it to ! I can not read it !
Ragnil Syversdtr. should be the wife of Ole Stenersen , and his father is Stener Næsset.
That is all i have got .
good luck

Hello David, when you have difficulties reading old handwriting, it is a good idea to put your question here: https://slektsforum.slektogdata.no/viewforum.php?f=2352 and I am sure you soon will get an interpretation from competent people.
And, instead of jpg-links, you rather ought to put in permanent links to the appropriate church record, by following these instructions: https://slektsforum.slektogdata.no/view ... hp?t=32791
Venleg helsing Kjetil
