"Thompson, Henry R.
Age 80, Bainbridge Island, died March 14 at the Winslow Convalescent Center after a lingering illness. He was born July 28, 1892 on Bainbridge Island Wash. He was a marine engineer for years, rural mail carrier on the Island for 8 years, managed Island Bus Transportation for 13 years and retired in 1957 from employment with the Washington State ferry system. He was a member of the Rolling Bay Presbyterian Church for 68 years, Member of Bainbridge Island Grange for 29 years, and member of Fraternal Order of Eagles for 50 years. Survivors include his wife, Edna; two sons, Clark, of Bainbridge Island and Robert, of Gig Harbor; a daughter, Yvonne Walberg of Bainbridge Island and eight grandchildren; two brothers, Albin and Walter, both of Seattle and two sisters, Mrs. Ruby Kramer and Mrs. Frank (Helen) Wilson, both of Bainbridge Island. Memorial services will be held Sunday, March 18, 3 P.M., at Rolling Bay Presbyterian Church. The family suggests memorials, in lieu of flowers, be donated to the Rolling Bay Presbyterian Church or the Cancer Society."
