This is Cecilie buried beside her husband, but year of birth is 1868 here and 1869 in census 1900,- one of them must be wrong.

The birth years on these two Sigurd's don't match "our" Sigurd, so don't think he's ours.

I see, however that our Sigurd isn't in the burial records for Farsund.

It does appear Sigurd was still in Farsund when his father passed away in 1951 (Sigurd is listed as receiving/buying the family home at Brogaten 11, Farsund), but don't know what happened to him after that.

Perhaps in his later years he sold the home and moved to a retirement home somewhere else and was buried near that?

Yes, I know that the birth years of these two Sigurd's don't match "your" Sigurd. I pasted the information in spite because we used to have strong name tradition in Norway at time and earlier. This means that first boy used to be named after his dad's father, and the second named after his mom's father. One of the Sigurds mentioned is named Helmik Sigurd. The first forename is the same as "your" Sigurd's father. So I supposed if this could be a son of "your" Sigurd (if "your" Sigurd stayed in Farsund and not emigrated to America), or another relative, eg a cousin etc.

You're right; I wasn't even thinking into the next generation or about cousins, etc. I've been working with my focus only on Hjordis & her siblings. And, according to all the Tønnesens I see in the gravminner, there most probably are many cousins. . .
My (family) tree is growing by leaps and bounds!!
