Does anyone know where there is a map onlice that would show the Nerby farm
in Gjøvik?

Does anyone have a bygdebok that might have information about this farm?

Peder Pedersen................December 15, 1854 (Neerbyeie)
Christian Pedersen...........September 19, 1857 (Neerbyeie)
Antonete Pedersdatter..... September 25, 1859 (Neerbyeie)
Johan Pedersen.............. March 29, 1861 (Neerbyeie)
Karen Pedersdatter ........ November 22, 1863 (Neerbyeie)

Hans Pedersen went to Wisconsin, USA in 1882. A great-granddaughter of Hans Pedesen
(called Hans Nerby in America) will be in Norway this summer and wants to visit the Nerby
farm (her name is Jill Nerby). She is wondering if the farm is still owned by descendants of
Peder Simonsen.

I don't have any bygdeboks from Vardal, maybe someone can tell me if there are still descendants of this family in the area.

I cant find any of these name on Nerby farm in "Slekter på garder i Vardal og Redalen" by Per Braastad.

I think this family were living in a smaller "farm", Nerbyeie/Nerbystuen under Nerby farm.

If there were some of the children who didn't emigrated, may we can find some descendants in this area.

There are people here on Slektsforum who know this area far better than me an I hope they are able to help you.

Christian Pedersen was married in Vardal 22 Jul 1882 to Ingeborg Mathiasdatter ,born 1855. They had at least 2 children
1 Mathias ,born at Hørstadeie in Vardal 23 Nov ,christened 9 Dec 1883 ,
2 Petra ,born at Engen in Vardal 24 Sep ,chr 16 Oct 1892. Haven`t found them in 1900
census
Peter Pedersen Nerbyeie married in Hunn (Vardal) 17 Aug 1880 to Oline Østensdatter ,born 1861 ,and had at least 7 children. I think their surname would be Solheim.

Peter is called Petter P. Solheim in census 1900 and then living at Solheim ,Vardal.
His mother and father
Johan Pedersen Nerbyeie ,married in Hunn (Vardal) 22 Mar 1884 to my distant relative Inger Mathea Nilsdatter Skiakereie from Nordre Land ,Oppland County b 1862. Had at least one son
1 Hans ,born 22 Nov 1883 at Askimseie in Hunn ,chr 23 Mar 1884 and who emigrated to US
in 1900. Haven`t found the family in 1900.

Most likely you can find more about these persons at http://www.slektshistorielaget.no in censuses or transcribed parish records. Click on the US flag or on Kilder - then Gjøvik municipality - then e.g. kirkebøker

Hello, Brian!
I have been interested in genealogy for several years. Discovered to my satisfaction this website today after a google search. I can inform you that I am a descendent after one of Peder and Agneta Simensens children, their son Simen Pedersen born in 1848. He married Dorothea Trulsdatter born in Sande 1841. Their son Torvald Peder Simensen was born in Sande 1875. He was my grandmothers father.
One day some years ago my mother received a phonecall from a woman in US asking for information about the Nerby family. I suppose this was Jill? Did she travel to Gjøvik/Vardal? My mother informed Jill(?) that she could contact me, but I haven't heard anything. Do you know how I can get in touch with her? Are you related to Jill?
I look forward to your answer.
