Wesley Mickelson
Wesley A. Mickelson, 91, Waconia, Minn., and formerly of Madison, passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2008, at the Good Samaritan Care Center in Waconia.
Wesley was born April 5, 1917, the son of Arthur and Julia Larson Mickelson on the farm in Sister Bay. He grew up in northern Door County and served in the Air Force in Great Britain during World War II.
He worked in the shipyards in Sturgeon Bay as an electrician before moving to Madison in 1954, where he worked for the University of Wisconsin as an electrician in elevator service until retirement in 1982.
Wesley married the love of his life, Berniece H. Anglum June 16, 1946, at Ben Clare Methodist Church in Ben Clare, S.D., and together they enjoyed a long and good life full of family, friends, church and community activities.
He served faithfully on church boards, committees and special projects at Lakeview Moravian Church in Madison. They have lived these past seven years at Westview Acers in Waconia, in the midst of a supportive and caring community of friends. Wesleys quiet humility, confident faith, honesty and love will live on as an inspiring example in the lives of many people, especially Berniece and his family.

Wesley was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Julia Mickelson; sisters, Marian Duke and Millie McIlree; and infant brother, Winfield.
Funeral services and a celebration of his life was held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 11, at Westview Acres, Waconia, and will also be held at 4 p.m. at the Sister Bay Moravian Church, both with the Rev. Larry Christianson officiating. Interment will be in the Sister Moravian Cemetery.
