Slide show in FTM

A friend has an old version of FTM (he mentioned v4)

He has stored a lot of pics in the system, and wants to show them to
people using the "play scrapbook" feature. Altho he can do this, the
captions don't seem to show.

So....

1. Should the captions show? Is it possible to convince this version to
show captions?
2. If not in the older version, would they show in a newer version of FTM?

Hi Paul,

I cannot get captions either but overcame the problem with Adobe Acrobat
format.

Open to the person's scrapbook, Go to file then Scrapbook print preview,
then back to File then to export scrapbook then to Acrobat. Save the export
to desktop and then open it in Adobe Acrobat reader. When in acrobat go to
Window and click on full screen and then it will scroll through with the
caption underneath.

I wanted a slide show from FTM to scroll through all day at a reunion we
were having last year and I wanted the captions as well so I had to
eventually buy Adobe Acrobat so I could join all the PDF files and it worked
just fine. I think there are free programs that will do this but I had no
luck with them.

I guess you probably know all this.

Thats the path we were headed, but I thought I should check the
collective wisdom first!
