I'm trying to trace my roots to Norway. Unfortunately, I'm very confused on how to work the DIStreff website. I noticed you came from the same area as my grandparents and great-grandparents, and thought perhaps you can assist me. Here is my information:
My Grandparents: Anna Marie Knudsen born 1888 in Arendal, Norway. Her parents,
Father: Tellef Knudsen Mother: Gunhilde Hendricksen

I know Anna Marie Knudsen had 2 brothers, one of them was named Martin Knudsen

Anna Marie Knudsen came to New York City in 1909. I'm still trying to find out the ship, etc.
She married Bjarne Jorgensen born 1892. I sent for his death certificate in New York to try to find out more information.

Anna Marie was not born in the town of Arendal, she was born in Øyestad parish - which is right outside Arendal. Her parents were Tellef Knudsen and Gunhild Andersdatter. Date of birth: March 13th 1888. Tellef Knudsen was born in 1828, Gunhild Andersdatter was born in 1847. It is possible that this wasTellef Knudsen's second marriage.
