I can see now why I have had a difficult time.. if both Lars Christophersens were close relation due the marriage! I was getting confused. I think I can now unravel the family connections.

I am researching:
Lars Christoffersen from Vestvik & Anna Christoffersd.from Stenen
the parents of Ane Larsdtr Sandhoven.

Ane married Jacob Olsen and became mother to Ole Jacobsen Folstad/Gipling;
when she died her children were young, they were sent to live with foster families.
Ole J. Rognlie emigrated to North Dakota with Johanna Rognlie's family;
he became my husband's great-grandfather.
