Erland Olsen was born about 1696 in Hielle (Skjelle). According "bygdebok for Dovre" your information is correct. (In the book they say 1698 for birth of Erland or Ellan, same name diff spelling) the date of marriage i dont have, and its not written in the book.

Erland and Mari(t) had 8 children.
Marit 1723
Ingrid 1727 d 1727
Ingrid 1727-1731
Mari 1730
Ole 1734 - next farmer
Ole 1737
Ingrid 1739
Erland 1742

all the ones with no death year grew up.

Erland Olsen was my 6x great-grandfather and his daughter, Ingri, was my 5x great-grandmother.

Erland Olsen and Mari(t) Olsdatter, as I listed earlier, were married 29 December 1739. How could they both have been the parents of the children listed before that date? The mother was introduced in the parish records as Mari. Those children are not listed as illegitimate. There is no parish record of Erland Olsen of Hielle listed as marrying a different Mari(t) before 1739, and there is no death or burial record of a Mari(t) of Hielle who could or would have been married to Erland Olsen before 1739.

Also, does the bygdebok for Dovre mention the names of Erland Olsen's parents or other ancestors? Thank you
