Lesja confirmation records

Legg inn av gj05502 » 13. februar 2008 kl. 18.14

Hi,
I am wondering if there were confirmation records kept in the time before 1817. I don't seem to find any but maybe I'm not looking in the right place. Since the parish records are only in Kronological liste, I went through a couple of years and didn't see any lists of confirmands.
Can anyone verify this or show me where to look?
Thanks,

Speak of the devil. I found the records of confirmation for 1777-1819 under the 1732 - 1776 parish records. Hmmm?
Is Dovre a church in Lesja and/or did it become its own parish/district in a census?
Thanks,
David

Hi David

I have reported that error. Hopefully they will have it corrected in the not so distant future.

Dovre is now a separate parish. It became it's own parish 1861-01-01. Before 1861-01-01 Dovre was a part of Lesja. Dovre has separate church books back to 1854. Information before 1854 is found in Lesja church books. The present church in Dovre was built in about 1742 I think. The church in Dombås (place in Dovre) was built in 1939.

Dovre is by the way the "core area" for my father's side of the family.
