Christian Christopherson f 1859*

I have been searching for the baptism record for Christian Christophersen born on April 28, 1859 in Vestre Slidre. He is the son of Christopher Halvorson and Karin Gurine Olson. According to family history Karin went back to Norway and gave birth to Christian leaving four very young children back in Wisconsin. The mother died in 1860 back in Wisconsin and Christian returns to Wisconsin in 1862...I have not been able to find records of his return (which should show who he back to the USA with). This story does not make sense to me but one cannot be certain without any proof. I think Christian is the child of another woman but I have not proof. Any help you can give me is greatly appreciated.
