Jeg finner dem utflyttet fra Vågå den 16.06.1868 til Fræna i Møre og Romsdal.

Klarer noen å finne dem? Jeg tror de må ha flyttet til en annen plass enn Fræna evt emigrert...

So the reisemål for Sivert and family looks like Minnesota (Minne)
Is Ole the one born December 1856? (I see there are 2 Oles)
Also...is Ole married to Ragnhild and they have a child Lava, age 2 in 1882

Do I have that right?

I wonder what is the etternavn they used "over here"!

Perhaps you have already found this...
I could find it in the familysearch record (if you have not already found it)
But I find an Engeborg Aas b. April 1819 age 81, immigrated 1882
with Ole (b. March 1855) and Gurtine Aas and family in
the 1900 census of South Dakota, Day county, Grenville Twp.
Ole immigrated 1886 with his family.
Is that the right family?

Hello Patty,

Ole no.2 emigrated together with the parents, his wife Ragnhild and their daughter Lava in 1882.
It might be Ole no.1 you have found emigrating in 1886 (born March 1855). His wife was named Ingeborg Gjertina and that could very well turn into Gurtine in America. She was born Jan.12, 1859.
Finally, also the son Hans emigrated in May 1881 with destination Hancock, Minnesota; http://digitalarkivet.arkivverket.no/ge ... 0000888067

Yes, It must be Ole #1 who is in this 1900 South Dakota census, with his wife, "Gurtine" and children..Sivert (f. 1884), Sanna ?(f. 1885) and Edward (f. 1886)....all born in Norway.
Then "Engeborg" was a misspelling of Ingeborg (f. April 1819).

Edvard Hoem har gitt Ingeborg, Hans, Ole og Gjertinne "liv" i romanen Slåttekar i himmelen. Gjertinne var søsteren til Hoems oldemor.. Flott bok!
