Place of birth question

Legg inn av dn35567 » 30. oktober 2016 kl. 6.56

In the 1900 census for Brøttum at http://digitalarkivet.arkivverket.no/ft ... 7049009526, it reads that Nils Elverum was born at 'Land n. Krs'.

Can someone tell me what kommune and sokn I should be looking at to find his birth record?

Takk!

Hei

Jeg tror det er "Land Herred" i Oppland

Se folketelling 1891: https://media.digitalarkivet.no/ft10061010494786

FT1875: https://digitalarkivet.arkivverket.no/e ... 2103000926

FT1865: http://digitalarkivet.arkivverket.no/ft ... 8072002619

En god kandidat her, No.48

Håper dette er rett

Øystein, these are fantastic references ! Not only does it give the data on Nils and his birth and places of residence, but it clears up the crossed out entry for the mother of his first daughter. (Both the Ministerialbok and Klokkerbok put his mother as the mother of his first child, then crossed it out and put in his wife's name.)

What is especially amazing to me is your references to the 1891 census for Brøttum and how you found this listing. Is there some special search method that I can learn? I also found the records for his wife and daughter by going to the next pages in the census.

Thank you so much -- please do not hesitate to let me know if I or our bygdelag can ever help you in looking for records in the US. I am in Wisconsin, and our members are largely from the Upper Midwest.

Med beste hilsen,

Hi

I'm glad I could be of help to you

I found him in the 1891 cencus by finding the farm "Nersveen", were they lived at that time, in the 1910 census. There i found that Nersveen was located in cencus district "Bergheim", it narrowed the search area :) ...and as you can see Nersveen was listed under "Bergheim"

Take a look at the fathers name to No34 her:

Could it be "your" Nils?
