Nicolai Wogensen letter, 1727 Fredrikstad

Legg inn av William Sandve » 19. november 2019 kl. 20.19

I recently found an official letter to the Danish Chancellie sent by Nicolai Wogensen from Fredrikstad in 1727, concerning his deceased brother Niels Wogensen, and attested by Stats Nikolai Dams, my 5xgreat-grandfather, and others. Niels and Nicolai are 1st cousins of Stats Dams' wife, Kiersten Nielsdatter Raatkiaers. The Raatkiaers and Wogensens family members came originally from Aalborg, Denmark. Here's the link to the letter in Danish archives:
https://www.sa.dk/ao-soegesider/da/bill ... 8,61163635

I could use someone's help with a quick read of images/pages 265-267 in this letter and a summary transcription or translation -- just the main points about the people mentioned; see questions below. I can't read the handwriting well enough to transcribe it myself. The letter mentions the names of Niels' siblings living in Fredrikstad, Niels and Anne Marie. It also mentions something about a Svogerbruder(?) Christen Wogensen in Aalborg, and a gamle Moder Anne Nielsdatter. I have found Anne Nielsdatter's 1732 Aalborg probate summary, and it does mention surviving children, Nicolai and Anne Marie. Niels is also mentioned in one of his other brothers, Jørgen Vognsen's earlier probate record in 1725. <note1>

Questions: What is the purpose of this letter? What is it saying about siblings, Nicolai and Anne Maria Wogensen? What are the references to 1712 and 1714? What is the relevance of the Riksdalers mentioned in the same section? I also see something about 2000 Riksdaler in the part (pg 266) about the Aalborg relatives, but can't read it well enough to figure out what it is saying.

the first page is a letter from "Nicolaie Wogensøn" and "Anne Maria Wogens datter" to the king.

they refer to "vores Broder Sal: ... Niels Wogensen" (our brother deceased ... N. W. )
who entitled them each 1000 Rixdalder in his will,
since they hade served him without salary for many years.
They ask the king to confirm the attached will (the two next pages).

The will states that "min Broder Nicolai Wogensen" (mi brother N.W.) has been
in his (i.e. Niels') service since 1712 and "min Kiere Søster Anne Marie Wogensdaatter"
(my dear sister A.M.W.) since 1714
... many kind words about their faithfulness....
declares that they should receive each one thousand Rixdr. when he in time pass away.
It will be their duty to support "vores Svage Broder Christen Wogensen som nu er i Aalborg
tillige vores gamle moder Anne Nielsdaatter saa framt hendes egne midle ei schulle tilstreke"
(our weak/sickly brother C.W. , who now is in Aa., and our old mother A.N. if her own
funds are insufficient".)

That makes sense. Thanks very much for the help. I am able to read some Norwegian, but not well enough to deal with the combination of language and old handwriting...Bill
