I am not sure I am doing the right thing, but here goes anyhow.
According to the 1865 Census in Brevik Telemark Norway, my great great
grandfather Petter Andreas Grønseth was born in "Tronjem" about 1815.
That is the only infomation I have on him pertaining to his birth.
Petter married in Brevik, Maren Gurine Olds and they had several children
including my great grandmother Petra Marie. Petter was a policeman in Brevik. He
died on 16 March 1904 and is buried in the Brevik Church Cemetery.
Several of his Grønseth children immigrated to America in the late 1890's and
early 1900's. At least some of them went to Chicago.
I am seeking information about the Grønseth family and birth records for
Petter Andreas.
If you have any information please contact me at

Thank You

Hello !

I have found another policeman named Grønseth, Svend in Trondheim in 1801, most likely
family. Its a longshot but it could be Petters grandad.

Best wishes
Odd Hansen

I would order the microfilm of the marriage and check for more information in the actual record.
