Ole Olsen LUND & Ingeborg Marie JOHANNESEN: Oslo > NZ
Could someone please help me with information on Ole Olsen LUND & his wife Ingeborg Marie JOHANNESEN?
So far, I have been unable to find any birth/parents/census/marriage for either of them.
Ole Olsen LUND (as he was known in New Zealand) was listed in the emigration records as Ole Olsen LUNDHAUG:
http://digitalarkivet.uib.no/cgi-win/we ... 25323#ovre
25323 Oslo 460A 1872 30 Ole Olsen Lundhaug m G Maler 29 Kristiania New Zealand 1503 Norsk œ 16 Høvding
25324 Oslo 460B 1872 30 Ingeborg Johannesen f G 29 Kristiania New Zealand 1504 Norsk œ 16 Høvding
They had 10 children in New Zealand, but none at the time of emigration, suggesting they may have been newly-married when they left Norway.
The information I have about them is here:

Thanks.

So, if Ole OLSEN was born at Lundhaug, why would he have changed this to Lund?

Ole Olsen Lund`s naturalization record in NZ mentions that he was from Kongsvinger. This is in line with infomation already found by Bent Roger.

Hi Pip
- and it was quite normal to simplify/change the farmname (lastname) for immigrants, e.g. Berg and I belive Foss, is often simplified farmnames (lastnames) for immigrants from Norway.
So that Lundhaug became Lund is absolutely ok.

Thanks for your explanation, Bent.
Name changes make genealogy much harder!

Hi Pip
I think I was to fast with Ingeborg Marie, but happy its a small world.
You see, I had a foster-aunt who marrried Ingar Wendelborg Pettersen, born 13.01.1914 in Bragernes, Buskerud.
Because of that, I start to investigate more and found out that it was two Ingeborg Marie/a Johannesdatter, born in Eiker 1842.
The first Ingeborg M. I found is not the right one:
Ingeborg Maria Johannesdatter, born 19. August 1842, Eiker, Buskerud.
Parents: Johannes Pettersen and Mari Hansdatter Wendelborg.
This one? http://www.geni.com/people/Ingeborg-Mar ... 9948407908
But this is Ingeborg Maria/e in census 1900, widow: http://digitalarkivet.no/cgi-win/WebCen ... =1278#ovre
- and here in census 1910: http://digitalarkivet.arkivverket.no/ft ... 6392048251
Son: Otto Darjes, born 17.02.1877, nr.29, this also give answer that this Ingeborg M. stayed in Norway.
Kildeinformasjon: Akershus fylke, Østre Bærum i Asker, Klokkerbok nr. III 2 (1874-1883), Fødte og døpte 1877, side 63-64.
http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:kb_read?i ... x_side=-34
- but this have to be the right one, nr.295:
Ingeborg Maria Johannesdatter, born 6. October 1842, Eiker, Buskerud.
Parents: Johannes Pedersen and Mari Mortensdatter Stablum.
Kildeinformasjon: Buskerud fylke, Eiker, Ministerialbok nr. 13A (1832-1845), Fødte og døpte 1842, side 190.
http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:kb_read?i ... _side=-192
Ingeborg M., born in Eger (= Eker/Eiker) census 1865: http://digitalarkivet.arkivverket.no/en ... 8080001189
- Ole and Ingeborg`s son, born 29 Dec 1876, have the name Morton, I think that is NZ for Morten. (Mari Mortensdatter)
I am sorry that I picked out wrong Ingeborg, and hope this didnt gave you a lot of extra work.
