When Martha Oscarine Halvorsen and her twin brother Einar were born in 1880, their father, Oscar, was 28 and their mother, Christiane, was 29. She married Otto Vilhelm Topp and they had two children together. She then married Henry Laurus Christian HOEL in 1917 in Worcester, Massachusetts. She died in 1923 in Holden, Massachusetts, at the age of 43.

John Franklin White, 65, Mint Hill, N.C., formerly of Sarasota, died July 5, 2007.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Trinity Fellowship Church in Matthews, N.C., with his family receiving friends one hour before the service. Heritage Funeral and Cremation Service, Indian Trail, N.C., handled arrangements.
Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Nancy; sons Justin of Mint Hill and Daniel of Charlotte, N.C.; a sister, Onyx White of Havana, Fla.
Also surviving are sisters-in-law, Joanne Warman, and husband, Gordon, of Bradenton and Patricia McClure of The Villages; mother-in-law, Dorothy Hoel of Sarasota; aunt, ExaMae Hull, and husband, Ivin, of Deatsville Ala., and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mr. White passed away at home following a two year battle with Merkel cell carcinoma. He was born in Talladega, Ala., to the late Carl James and Lois Davis White. He was a longtime resident of Sarasota prior to relocating to the Charlotte area in 1996, and was a former active member of Church of the Palms, Presbyterian. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force and recently retired from PCA International in Matthews, N.C.
John was a hands-on, creative man who was not afraid to tackle any project or task. He had a deep love for his family, friends, and his many church activities. As a member of Matthews United Methodist Church, he was active in the Covenant Sunday school class and Thursday night men's Bible study. His recent faith journey led him to make new friends at Trinity Fellowship Church.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff and caregivers with Hospice & Palliative Care, Charlotte region, and would like to direct any memorial contributions in memory of John to them at 1420 E. 7th St., Charlotte, NC 28204.

Beloved matriarch, Grammy Dot died peacefully surrounded by loved ones in Sarasota FL. on January 14. She leaves behind five generations of family. This includes three daughters, Joanne Warman and Patricia McClure of FL, and Nancy White of NC and six of her grandchildren, Richard Warman, Cathy Guild, Steven Warman, Lynne Johnson, Julie Page, and Beth Watts from Worcester County.

She was born February 6, 1908 and was predeceased by her husband of 60 years. Bill Hoel who died in 1988 and by a sister and granddaughter. Her passion was her family and the time she spent with them always included a card game.

A memorial service for her will be at 5 p.m. Friday, January 22nd at the First Congregational Church of Shrewsbury 19 Church Road, Shrewsbury, MA. Donations can be made in her honor at Pines of Sarasota 1501 N. Orange Avenue ~ Sarasota, Florida 34236 http://www.pinesofsarasota.com/

KLEINBERG, DONALD RALPH Entered into rest Donald Ralph Kleinberg June 29, 2013 at Highland Health Care Facility in Cheshire, Connecticut after a long illness. He was born in Waltham, Massachusetts on November 15, 1922, the son of Karl and Julia (Rapp) Kleinberg. He grew up in Worcester Mass, graduated from Classical High School in 1940, honorably discharged from the Army in 1946 and graduated from Harvard University in June, 1949 with a degree in English. He came to New Haven, CT in 1966 as Director of Information and Development at Yale New Haven Hospital till 1978. He loved classical music, reading the New York Times, King Tut, Asian art and great food. He was the ultimate corresponder. He is survived by daughters Elizabeth K. Zimmitti of Cheshire, CT, Susan R. Kleinberg of Kauai, HI and Roger A. Kleinberg of Wallingford, CT and grandchildren Christopher and David Zimmitti of Cheshire, CT., Marco Politi of Marin County, California and Alexandra Piper Ross Kleinberg of Denton, TX. Predeceased by a son Dana R. Kleinberg formerly of Kitsap County, WA. and two sisters Dorothy Hoel and Elsie Carlson formerly of Worcester, MA. A memorial service will be held at The Church of the Redeemer, 145 Cold Spring Street in New Haven at 2pm on Sunday, July 7, 2013. Memorial Donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation , 1463 Highland Ave., Cheshire, CT 06410-1216 Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to the MONAHAN, COX, SMITH & CRIMMINS FUNERAL HOME, 11 Wooster Place, New Haven.
