Hun giftet seg med styrmann Peder Johannesen Røhn 26.05.1869 i Trefoldighetskirken.
Ekteparet bodde i Akersveien 6 i Christiania.
Lovise og Peder fikk 2 barn som begge døde før de var 1 år.
Av passasjerlister for emigrasjon til Amerika reiste Lovise Røhn fra Christiania 10.06.1873 med reisemål Chicago. Det står oppført at hun er 26 år, men ut fra fødselsdato er hun vel egentlig 27 år når hun ankommer Amerika. Hun står oppført som enke.
Og der slutter mine opplysninger om Lovises videre livsløp.

Noel Denamur Dies at Ripe Age of 99

Noel Denamur passed away the morning of January 2nd at the hoe of his daughter, Mrs. T. J. Heaton, R. 4, Arlington. Mr. Denamur was probably the most aged man in this vicinity, having reached the age of 99 years on Christmas day, his name indicating the day of his birth. "Noel" being the French word for Christmas. Deceased is survived by one son and three daughters; John Denamur of Everett, Mrs. Mary Wold of Minnesota, Josie Eberhard and Mrs. Grace Heaton, both of R. 4, Arlington. Funeral services will be held from the catholic church at 10 a.m., Saturday.

Denamur Funeral Saturday Afternoon

The funeral of Mrs. Louise Denamur, who died Monday, December 19, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. T. J. Heaton, will be held Saturday, 2 p.m., from Moll's chapel, having been delayed to permit arrival of a daughter from Minnesota. Mrs. Denamur, who had reached the age of 77 years, 6 months and 12 days, was born at Christiana, Norway, June 17, 1853, and was married to Noel Denamur at Chicago Nov 17, 1875. She had been a resident of Washington for 24 years and of Arlington for 18 years. Deceased is survived by a son and three daughters, namely, John Denamur, Arlington; Mrs. Mary Wurl, Bemidje, Minn.; Mrs. Josephine Eberhard and Mrs. Grace Heaton, Arlington; also by 19 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Double Funeral

Mrs. Louise Denamur and Grand-daughter Buried Last Saturday - Daughter of J. R. Denmur Dies Suddenly on New Year's Day

Proving that the grim reaper is no respecter of persons, impartially including young and old in his harvest. Arlington on Saturday last with the unusual spectacle of a grandmother and grandchild being buried on the same day. The principals in this sad event were Mrs. Louise Denamur, 77, wife of Noel Denamur, and Dorothy Nora Denamur, 13, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Denamur. The former, whose biographical sketch we published last week, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. T. J. Heaton, December 19th. Dorothy passed away on New Year's day at her home at the east city limits, death resulting from an acute attack of Bright's disease. She had attained the 7th grade in the Roosevelt school and members of her class served as pallbearers. Besides her father and mother, she is survived by two sisters, Josephine and Eva, and by three brothers, Robert, George and Oliver. Joint funeral services were held last Saturday at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Molls Funeral Home and were largely attended, many fine floral tributes banking the caskets. Rev. Chas. L. Williams officiated and Mrs. J. O. Carlson sang "No Night There" "In the Garden" and "Does Jesus Care," being accompanied by Mrs. Peter Satra. Interment was in the Arlington cemetery.

Oliver J. Denamur, USAF/SMSgt (Ret.), 84 of Orlando, passed away Friday, October 13, 2006 in Leesburg. He was born in Everett, Washington on November 16, 1921 to Robert John Denamur and Carrie Laushbaugh. He served in the US Airforce during WWII and retired after 25 years of service. He is survived by his daughter Sharon Biddle of Leesburg, two grandchildren Lynell Martinez and Shawnna Patterson, three great-grandchildren Christian Martinez, Dante Martinez and Carmen Patterson. Visitation will be held from 9:30AM-12:30PM on Wednesday, October 18, 2006 at Newcomer Family Funeral Home, 895 S. Goldenrod Road, East Orlando. It is nice to see that it was a happy ending for the young girl who lost her two babies and her husband, and was left alone in Christiania.
As I see, her birthyear through the documents differ up to 7 years, but all other information you found about her seems to be correct. In fact Lovise/Louise was 84 years old when she died, not 77. Nevertheless, she got a long life in America.

Another issue which has been very tricky for me, is her first husband who died. I have a gap of information about him between 1849 till 1869 when he married Lovise.
It has neither been able for me to find out when, how or where he died. In many years I have surch for him, but have not found him anywhere. He was a sailor. Unfortunately it does not exist any register of sailors from that time in Norway. I wonder however if he was sailing between Norway and America and can be registrered in America. I have following information about him:

Peder Johannesen Røhn b. 14.06.1835 in Sør-Fron, Norway.
He was living in Christiania since he was about 3 years old.
His father was: Johannes Lodversen
His Mother was: Embjør Pedersdatter
Peder was a sailor. Concerning the christian of his youngest child, he is registrered "Skibskaptein".
Peder was married to Lovise Tollander in 1869.
He died obviously between 1871 and 1873.

I really hope for help to find him. He must be registrered somewhere.

I would suggest for your Peder Johannesen Røhn b. 14.06.1835 in Sør-Fron, Norway that you check all the Church books in Oslo/Kristiania for his death. You should also check for him leaving Norway. You need proof he left Norway before searching for him anyplace else. If he died on a ship at sea, you may never find him.

Thank you for answering.

I have now been surching Peder Johannesen Røhn for his death in all the Church books in Christiania as I have done many times before during the last years. Unfortunately my eyes cannot find him registrered anywhere. I can neither find him leaving Norway to America nor coming to New York as an immigrant or as a visitor.

I wonder if there are some registers of the crew on ships coming into different harbours, in for instance New York. Does such registers exist?

I am aware of the fact that Peder can possibly have died at sea by an accident or illness, and that he probably was never found or that the funeral was at sea, which was normal at that time. Nevertheless, many times I have descovered in the Church books of Deaths that persons have died at sea, but this has probably been done by the family of the person who died, by talking to the priest, who registered the death of the person in the Church book.
