Jonas Andreassen Sandmo, født 1815 i Overhalla, og Gollaug Fredriksdatter Holsing, f. 1806 i Snåsa, fikk barna:

1. Andreas Jonassen Sandmo, f. 1838 i Ibestad.
2. Rebekka Christine Jonassen Sandmo, f. 1840 i Ibestad.
3. Paul Fredrik Jonassen Sandmo, f. 1842 i Ibestad.
4. Edvard Simon Jonassen Sandmo, f. 1845 i Ibestad.
5. Johan Kristian Jonassen Sandmo, f. 1848 i Overhalla.
5. Anne Nicoline Jonassen Sandmo, f. 1851 i Overhalla.

Av barna utvandret Rebekka Christine, Edvard Simon, og Anne Nicoline til Amerika.
Anne Nicoline reiste 17.5.1871 fra Trondheim med SS Norway til Hull, med La Crosse, Wisconsin som oppgitt reisemål. Ettersom Rebekka og Edvard ikke nevnes under FT 1875 må det antas at også Rebekka og Edvard utvandret mellom 1865 og 1875.

I dødsfallsprotokollen 1896 til lensmannen i Eidsvoll, hvor Gollaug døde, er det protokollert at Rebekka, Edvard og Anne, var utvandret til Amerika.

Av de tre barna finnes kun Anne Nicoline i emigrantprotokollene, mens ingen av dem er å finne i søkeregistret til Castle Garden, og ingen er å finne i Ancestry. Com.

Under forumet Overhalla og emnet ”Fotoalbum Overhalla Historielag”, vises det til foto av Rebekka Sandmo med mann, og foto av Edvard Sandmo. Da jeg ikke finner andre personer i Overhalla eller Nord-Trøndelag, med samme navn, er de med stor sannsynlighet identisk med barna til Jonas og Gollaug. Det har imidlertid så langt ikke vært mulig å finne utfyllende opplysninger om hvordan fotografiene, som ble skannet i 2004, havnet i ”fotobasen” til Overhalla Historielag.

Er klar over at det kan bli vanskelig, men håper fortsatt å finne deres skjebne i Amerika eller eventuelt Canada.

Siden emigrantlistene fra Trondheim først begynner April 1867 kan de ha reist før disse listene ble ført.

I lenken du viser til finner vi Rebekka Christine som er i tjeneste hos farens onkel i Kvatningen. Angående Edvard så er min siste opplysning om han her i Norge, hans konfirmasjon 1. oktober 1862 i Ibestad, Troms. Jeg har ikke funnet han i FT 1865.

Rebekka Christine is accompanied church book born 18 August 1840 in Ibestad, and you have again found my distant relatives in America. I think it will now go smoothly and track down for posterity. They probably have information about Rebekkas siblings.

By the way the above photo. I have now confirmed that this is Rebekka and Edvard, and after that Margit has now contributed, it is clear that the man on Rebekah's photo is her husband Peter G. Olson.
