Karen og Christoffer reiset ut fra Trondheim den 31. august 1892 med d/s "Domino". Reisemålet var Quebec, North Dakota.

Edvard Olai Andreassen, født 10. juli 1868, reiste fra Trondheim den 26. april 1893 med d/s "Tasso". Reisemålet var Huron, South Dakota.

Det skal ha kommet Amerikabrev til broren Anders i Lenvik, men de ble borte for 50 - 60 år
siden. Er det noen som kan hjelpe meg med hva som hendte i Amerika med disse 3 søskene fra Evenes ?

Takk til dere begge for ny info.

Christoffer og Karen skal til samme sted i Dakota, og jeg er enig i at stedet kan begynne med Hele.. Og det er oveveiende sannsynlig at det "mine" søsken.

Jeg har kommet til at det sannsynligvis er Christoffer som Ann-Mary fant i Cencus 1900 hos
Peter Korsmoe i Ward, Grand Forks. Det er jo på sammen sted som hans bror Edvard bosatte seg på, så jeg synes at det rimer. Om ikke annet kommer opp, så skulle jeg tro at Christoffer er død før 1910. Men hva med Karen ?

Hei,

Du har rett, de reiste til De Forente Stater via Canada. De ankom 'Ville de Québec' i provinsen Québec i Canada. Fra byen Québec måtte de nå den kandisk-amerikanske grensen og de amerikanske tollene ved St Albans i delstaten Vermont (ca. 350 kms). Fra St Albans reiste de med bane til South Dakota, til en liten landsby som heter 'Hitchcock'.

Det ga en god forståelse for at man ikke var framme med målet når man satte foten på det amerikanske kontinentet. Jeg har funnet et foto av "Tasso" som broren Edvard reiste med,
og er forundret over hvor små noen av Amerika-båtene var.
