Hi,

Can someone tell me if Falsensgate was in the parish of Petrus, Paulus or Sagene.
I am trying to find the death record of my great grandmother who died in 1919.

Hi,
In 1899 was Falsens gade in the northern part of Paulus parish. Her is a link to the page that states which street belonged to which parish in 1899, http://www.disnorge.no/oa/kilder/samlagsafstemningen1899.php

I’m not all that familiar with the parishes in Olso but here is a translation of the parish histoy of Paulus. The parish history is only in Norwegian, http://www.arkivverket.no/arkivverket/Bruk-av-arkiver/Introduksjon/Slektsgransking/Soknehistorikk

By royal resolution 10th of July 1874 the areas limited by Akerselva, Fossveien, Sannergata, the old town boarder and Trondhjemsveien was divided from Gamle Aker parish and made into a separate parish, Paulus parish.
By royal resolution 28th of September 1897 the boarders were sett to follow Nordre gate from Akerselva, Toftes gate, Helgesens gate, Tegelverksgata, Verksgata, Fagerheimsgata and Akerselva.
By royal resolution 17th of November 1916 was the area south of Helgesens gate divided and established as Hauge parish. However, from that parish (Hauge) all the area north of Sofiensberggata became once again a part of Paulus parish by royal resolution of 11th of February 1938.

When looking at the map of Oslo, Falsens gate is just a couple of blocks away from the Paulus church and by checking the church of Norway’s website it states that Falsens gate is still a part of Paulus parish.
