Father of Andreas Olsen Hammer

My great grandmother was Marie Justine Andreasdatter Hammer, born in 1859 at Hammer, Overhalla, and died in 1916 in the USA.

I’m having some trouble trying to determine her father’s (my great great grandfather’s) ancestors. He was Andreas Olsen Hammer, born in 1804, Værem, Grong, Norway, died 1884, Hammer, Skage, Overhalla.

The records I’ve found for his father identify him as Ole Olsen Hammer or Berge or Jørum, born either in Jørem or Berge, Grong, and died either in Berge, Grong or Hammer, Skage, Overhalla. Other trees identify him as Olof Hammar.

The dates differ somewhat in different trees: Ole Olsen Berge 1773 – 1855 or Ole Olsen Jørem 1769 – 1853, Ole Olsen Hammer 1769 – 1859, or Olof Hammar 1763-?

According to some records, Ole Olsen’s wife was Beret Pedersdatter Værum, born 1774, Værem, Grong, died 1847, Hammer, Skage, Overhalla.

Other records have him married to Johanna Taraldsdatter Berge (født Værum)
1773 or 1775 – 1854. Johanna does not appear to be the mother of Andreas Olsen Hammer. Kerstin Jonsdatter 1786-1847 is given as Olof Hammar’s wife.

I’ve seen Ole Olsen Hammer/ Berge/Jørum’s father identified as Ole Taraldsen Berge or Jørum, 1717 – 1794, and his mother as Margarethe Madsdatter Lestum or Jørem, but Ole Olsen Hammer/ Berge/Jørum is not always listed as their child.

Can someone help me sort this out?

One thing first. Marie Justine was not baptized as Marie Justine, but only Marie.

Of course that depends if it is the one who married Otto Mathias Aleksandersen Furrunes b 1864 in Overhalla and married Feb 15th 1900 in skage kirke in Overhalla, and was previosly married to Johannes Williamsen Ekker b 155 in Overhalla and married March 26th 1883 in Skage kirke in Overhalla.

Since I believe I have you in my database I assume I am correct.

His Parents are Ole Olsen b 1776 in Grong, and Berethe Pedersdtr Værum b 1774 in Grong.

His parents are Ole Christoffersen Berre (1744-1789 born and died in Grong and Beret Olsdtr lestum b i 1850 in Overhalla.

Her parents are Peder Hansen Grandaunet (1730 in Overhalla d1823 in Grong and Gidsken Eriksdtr Vibstad b 1734 in Overhalla and d 1801 in Grong.

I was just looking an some old genealogies my mother had drawn up. She just refers to her grandmother as Marie. I'm not sure how the Justine got in there. I'll have to see if I can track down the source.

She didn't have anything for Ole Andreas's parents. She had a little more detail about the Ekker side.

I may have some more questions as I go along. I'm getting very few matches on ancestry.com for this branch of my tree and I question some of the ones I found on myheritage.

There are a lot of erros on MyHeritagae as people just copy from iother without checking the soruces, and if you have several people named Ole Olsen at the same farm it is easy to go wrong.
