Peter C. Rasmussen, abt 1836 to abt 1915

I am building a database and web page of Rasmussen's in Maryland to
include births, Baltimore arrivals, naturalizations, deeds, name changes,
deaths, cemetery records (military and civilians), of any Rasmussen
passing through or living in Maryland. The earliest Rasmussen I am
finding is Peter C. Rasmussen who appears to have arrived in NY
on 5 Feb 1869 aboard the Cimbria. I believe he was from Denmark
although the census records for 1870 indicate Norway. Peter married
Sophia (last name unknown) from Germany. The family traveled at
least twice overseas arriving in Baltimore on 22 January 1896 and again
on 31 August 1877. I have been unable to find a death certificate for
Peter who passed away sometime between 1910 and 1920. The
family consisted of Peter and wife Sophia, children Peter, Charles,
Powell, Axil Anton, George, Sophia, Catherine, John, Edward and
William. I am trying to locate Peter's original family in Denmark/Norway.

I am a volunteer genealogist for the State of Maryland Archives and
the RAOGK volunteer organization. Any help appreciated.
