Hello All,
Seeking relations or information on CHARLIE PEARSON, born October 4th,
1854 in either Gotland or Ostergotlands, Sweden.
His family made or sold cheese. He had one brother named Julius. His
year of emmigration on the US census is listed as 1870, but he did not
enter the country through conventional means! He worked on a merchant
ship which required repairs off the east coast of the US. The younger
men were permitted to "See America for one month" before returning to
the ship to continue the voyage. Charlie swam ashore somewhere near
Savannah, GA. Met a woman in Reidsville, GA whom he married, then
finally settled in the Appling County, GA area.
I have a great deal of information on his descendants! Please contact
me if you think we have a family connection.
Additionally, any help finding his birth record in Sweden is SINCERELY
appreciated!!!
