I have a document that was given to me which belonged to my husband's
grandmother, Helga Hansen. The document is in Norwegian and I am not able
to read it. I think it is a birth record or a baptism record ... however
the year is off from what we have for her birth / baptism.... I have
uploaded a scanned copy of this document to my web page .... it is under the
link on the left for Hansen Family.... and is the 2nd thumbnail on that
page...... Could someone please help me with the translation of this
document? Thank you so much.

a waste of time if you don't post the correct url
the sore was inspected 7 to 9 days afterwards and the vaccination had
taken
certified 22 July 1881
http://www.tacitus.nu/historical-atlas/ ... norway.htm
after 1814 so by Swedish law??
or the older Daniosh vaccination laws?
so she might be listed as Swedish in some places

"Cowpox vaccination certificate
Helga, born in "Torgenrud" (?)
by parents Hans "Hendrickson" (?) and Line Olsdatter
currently living in "St" (?)
Age 1 year
has by me on 15 July 1881 been innoculated by cowpox. By careful
examination between the 7th and 9th day after the innoculation,
I have found all the symptoms of those who have contracted real
cow pox: they were whole and undamaged, filled with a clear liquid,
sunken down in the middle, and surrounded by a red circle.
The mentioned Helga thus has gone through real cowpox, which protects
from smallpox, which, on my honor and concience, is hereby certified
by Magdelene Sofie Olsen.
Väster <something - place name>, 22nd July 1881"
Language is either oldfashioned Norwegian or oldfashioned Danish. Hard
to tell the difference sometimes - but it is fully readable for a modern
day Norwegian

Re: translation help please
Acc. to 1900 Census they lived on the farm Midtbostuen in Vestre Toten parish, so the name of the place in the document is written Vestre Thoten.
