ZERPPE/MOLLAN; SWE > MN,USA > ND,USA > TX,USA; 1886-1964

My grandfathers brother, Alrik Zerppe. Born in Sweden according to
death cert. 2/21. 1886. Died in Houston,Texas 12/18. 1964. Married to
Hulda Theresia Mollan, Norwegian citizen, born 8/21. 1897 Died ?.
They
left Sweden sometime in August 1923, and moved to MN. I have not been
able to track them further in MN, but since Alrik's SSN is from ND I
know that he lived there too. Alrik moved to Houston Tx in 1946. I
don't know if he was divorced from Hulda by then. According to the
death certificate that I have recieved, he died Dec. 18. 1964. They
had a son Karl Bertil. born 1/14. 1920 in Sweden. If anyone by chance
knows where his ex-wife died, and where his son is, please E-mail me.

I am sending you directly to your email address the passenger manifest list when they came to the U.S.; which is all I could find.

I can find nothing else whatsoever on Hulda or Karl Bertil. Perhaps they returned to Sweden, or she remarried.

I did find this on Ancestry.com: It is a long shot but she might have remarried. Note the father's surname...

It is possible that she remarried in the U.S. Had she returned to
Sweden, I would have been able to find her her though I believe,
through our extensive archives here.

I would think Lagerquist is her surname as remarried.

By the way, search for Hul* and Mol* in 1900 census of Norway gave no
results. Unless her familie moved to Sweden btw. 1897 and 1900, I doubt she
was Norwegian. Byt, she could have been registered under fathers patronym
and that she took the surname Moland later as having been raised at a farm
named Moland or alike (Mollan is most probably a Swedish renaming of Moland
or a Swedish warrior surname, but most it sounds like a nickname for her.

There were totally 8 Hulda T(h)erese living in Norway in 1900. There is one
born in 1899, another in 1887 (could 97 be a misspelling?). the other much
elder.

You will find these 5 on Digitalarkivet, http://www.digitalarkivet.no, by
selecting first given name "begin with" Huld, then select given name begins
with 't'. That would find all spelling variants, also Terese and Therese
(that looks similar)

No, I know that her name was Mollan and she was from Norway, I have
found the village in where she ws born too, and it most certainly was
the family name Mollan. Several of her ancestors immigrated to the
U.S, and had the name Mollan when they came to America.

Thanks, but I do already know where in Norway she came from, as well
as where in Sweden she moved to, before she married Alrik. My problem
is that she disappeared in the U.S
