Converting from Generations to ???

I have installed Generations 8.5.0.0 on my XP Pro PC. The core
program works fine, but none of the accessories work. I'd like to
change to a more actively supported program -- thinking about Family
Tree Maker 2006. Can anyone comment? Will a gedcom file exported
from Generations import into FTM?
