Hi all....
I'm very new to genealogy. I know nothing at this point
I'm a 47 yr old man and have two brothers and sister
all older than me.
I don't want to get too deep into this. All I want to
do is document my siblings lives, my parents lives, and
maybe their parents lives.
We have stuff on paper and pictures but not in any
digital format at all. And that's what I want digital
format as I'm very computer literate and like doing
things the computer way.
Having said all the above, would using something like
Logger suffice for my entries and records for now? I
could type up short life history's abt people and
include digital pictures.
I have a blog unused as it is thru Google eBlog
Good idea for a start?
Use weblog for records?

Haha! Thanks for reply Donna
Well as I've gotten older (47)..... and both parents
and all aunts and uncles are gone.... I've come to grim
realization that I really don't "know" those people!
By that I don't know what they liked, what the didn't
like, where they traveled, etc. <sigh>
So..... I'm gonna "assemble" all this info into some
kind of electronic format. I have bits and pieces to
work with spread all over the place. My sister knows a
few things. My brother knows a few things, Etc.
Anyway..... I've downloaded the LDS software.... PAF is
it?
I've also downloaded the free Legacy 5.0 software
Playing with both. Have any advice on which one to
start with?
At fits I thought I could just type all this on a web
log. But is there some REAL benefit to using either
one of these soft wares above vs just doing things
manually in a web log
And..... can either of these apps above "publish" to a
web log?
I mean after all... once I get this info assembled.....
Id want to share it on the Net, correct?
Advice all? I'm kind of lost as to where to stat down
this journey. Its almost like being a detective!
