Gedcom with pictures

Hi All,

All I need is a Gedcom program that will transfer pictures as well. Any such
thing?

Hello Kaye,

Earlier GEDCOM standards (prior to v5.5.1) provided for the inclusion
of pictures as objects in the GEDCOM file however this really was never
taken up by software developers as being impractical due to the size of
images - it caused file bloat. All recent GEDCOM standards allow for
the filename and path of the picture to be included in the GEDCOM file
with the pictures being forwarded as a separate file. Most modern
family history software should support transfer and receipt of picture
file and pathnames as part of the GEDCOM process.
