Still using FTM Deluxe II

Legg inn av Gjest » 7. november 2004 kl. 3.48

I am still using FTM Deluxe Edition II from way back goodness knows
when. I am also still using Windows 98.
Would I be able to successfully upgrade to the present 9 or 10 ... or
did it go up to 11 during the past week or so? ;-)
It seems every time I turn around there is another version available.
Deluxe II is working okay but I feel pressured to upgrade.
Responses will be appreciated

Family Tree Maker, FTM, is now up to version 2005!
You can go the ancestry.com web site to see if it is compatable with
Win98 and if not which versions are.

They upgrade about once a year - but why feel pressurized to upgrade if

you're happy with what you've got? The current version if called FTM 2005,
which is (in old numbers) FTM ver 13. I'm not sure what number yours was,
but if it was lower than 7, there's a few features that are a great
improvement - the all-in-one tree, improved sourcing, MUCH easier merging of
individuals, for example.....
You may need to upgrade if you ever go to WIN XP, but there's no rule that
says you have to chnge if you don't want to.
