FTM Question

Legg inn av Nancy » 31. oktober 2004 kl. 0.36

Is there a way to save only part of my information. A cousin has
purchased FTM and I have offered to give her a copy of my information.
She will have to delete all the information that she does not want
unless I can figure out a way to save only the part that applies to her.
I have version 10.

There are several different ways to save only a portion of your data
from FTM. For examole, if you can generate a chart that contains only
the individuals that you want to give, then you can save those
individuals to a new file, and simply send your cousin a copy of that
new file.

If I read you correctly, you wish to send her only the branch of the tree
that she is on. Perhaps just your father's tree and none of your mother's
people or vice-versa.

It's easy. Put the person on the screen that you want to give along with all
of the ancestors of that person. Then generate an Ancestor tree standard.
Then click File-Copy/Export Individuals in Ancestor Tree. At that point,
you can create an FTM/FTW file for your cousin.
