There is a note in the Boka om Land bygdebok for Vest Torpa that Andreas Hansen (b. 1835) was killed in the Civil War. I believe I have located the proper person, but do not have definitive proof. Was wondering how word reached Norway about Andreas' death in the Civil War? Is there a letter? The reason I ask is that the bygdebok says he died in "Nashville" when he actually died aboard an Army hospital ship called the "City of Nashville" in Vicksburg, Mississippi. This seems like an easy thing to get confused, but thought the actual letter might clear things up."
