It says that she was a teacher born in Tromsø, but the place of birth in not always correct.

Or maybe this candidate is more likely to be her, the year and the place of birth is correct. HEr first name, however, is Betty and not Betsy.

Did they emigrate? When?

We chat on mIRC yesterday, and I promised to search for information regarding Betsy Dahl.

This is what I've found: (with certain reservations about dates, correct spelling and so on...)

Bethie Christine Lorentsen Dahl,
born 14 July 1846 in Vadsø.
Christened 18 October 1846 in Vadsø.

Parents:

Father: Lorentz Andreas Dahl, born 1809 in Steigen, Nordland. He died 1860 in Vadsø.
Mother: Golla Hertel Berg, born 1813 in Tromsø. She died 1866 in Vadsø.

Lorentz and Golla got married 25th of june 1831 or 1832 in Tromsø.

They lived in Tromsø before they moved to Vadsø.
Siblings of Bethie are: (each and all with surname Lorentzen Dahl)

1.Hans Georg, born 1831 (christened 26 DEC 1831) in Tromsø
2.Golla Hertel, born 21 JAN 1838 in Tromsø

Hello there.

Have you gotten more information on Lorentz Andreas Dahl? If not, I have his parents, and grandparents.

By the way, he was born on May 6. 1810 in Wiig, in the parish of Ibestad according to the church-record for Ibestad 1801 - 1850. He was one of five children.
His sister Anne Birgitte was one of my great-grand-mothers.
