Eilev Larsen (Kårdal?) born abt. 1808

Hello,

I am looking for the birth date and record for my 3rd great-grandfather Eilev Larsen. I have looked though Digitalarkivet's digitized parish records, but could not find his birth record. I cannot read these records very well, so that did not surprise me. I have also searched through Digitalarkivet's "Døypte i delar av Sogn og Fjordane innanfor perioden 1669-1895" and could not find him there either. Finnaly, I have tried Family Search without any luck.

Here is what I know of Eilev Larsen:

He married Eli Tostensdatter on 25 Oct 1825. See http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:kb_read?i ... _side=-210 or Sogn og Fjordane county, Aurland, Parish register (official) nr. A 6 (1821-1859), Marriage records 1826, page 207.

He and Eli had at least four children, all born on Kårdal. Ingeborg (b. 22 Oct 1826), Tosten (b. 06 Nov 1828), Lars (b. 04 Nov 1830), and Britha (b. 02 Dec 1832).

Eilev Larsen was the son of Lars Ellendsen Kårdal and Ingeborg Ifversdatter Frondahl. I do not have Eilev's birth record, as I already mentioned. I know his parents from a relative's research efforts. Lars Ellendsen Kårdal was baptised 28 Mar 1873 according to "Fylkesarkivet Sogn og Fjordane: Døypte i delar av Sogn og Fjordane innanfor perioden 1669-1895." Ingeborg Ifversdatter Frondahl was baptised 12 Nov 1775, aslo according to "Fylkesarkivet Sogn og Fjordane: Døypte i delar av Sogn og Fjordane innanfor perioden 1669-1895."

I also could not find a marriage record for the parents of Eilev Larsen - Lars Ellendsen and Ingeborg Ifversdatter. I searched through all of Sogn og Fjordane using "Vigde i delar av Sogn og Fjordane i perioden 1669-1922."

Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated. I am looking for the birth date and record for Eilev Larsen, and hopefully also the marriage date and record for his parents.

From the story of Flam, band IIB of Svein Indrelid:
"Ellend himself was a soldier when he spent 15 / July 1764 was married to Sigrid soldier widdow Atlesdtr.
Ellend its use was 12 brand butter. By this he owned himself, by the skating 12/11 1764, 6 brand. The rest had ifylgje futerekneskapen for 1770 - 71, unknown owner.
Sigrid dead at childbirth in autumn 1770. The child survived and was named after the mother. The 17th and 18 / April 1771 was the shift by Sigrid between Ellend, and two young daughters, Gertrude 2 years and Sigrid two months. Gross arc was 155 thalers, net 108 Of the beasts they had 1 horse, 6 cows, 3 ungbeist, 1 debt beef, sheep 6 adults and 3 young sheep.
 
Ellend is otherwise mentioned in 1776. The summer headscarf him a bear in Kårdalsmarki and got after 2 years thalers Scots premium.
In 1802 overload his farm to dotteri Gertrude and svigersonen Lars Larsen, who was from Otternes in hovudsokni ".

Ellend Ellendsen Kårdal was a younger brother to my ancestor Lars Ellendsen Kårdal, as you no doubt suspected. I already found the records for Ellend Olsen (1737-1828). It looks like I still need to find the marriage record for Lars Ellendsen Kårdal & Ingeborg Ifversdatter Frondal, and the birth record of their son Eilev.

I did not have the birth date for Ellend Olsen Kårdal's first wife Sigrid in my family tree. Thank you for sharing that information!

When I click the link you provided me, it takes me to a website asking me to sign up for a paid membership to "My Heritage." Yes, I had found the same record for his confirmation. However, I had NOT found his baptism record. Thank you very much! The chronological list format is very hard for me to read. I see that Eilev was born on Kaardalen as I suspected.

I am still looking for the marriage record for Eilev's parents - Lars Ellendsen and Ingeborg Ifversdatter - who married sometime around 1806. My guess is that may be in this same book. If you happen to see it, please let me know.

The "address" at the baptism was Kanesdahlen (or something like that, have to check with a map)

Kaardal is quite far up into the moutains.

Haha! Yes, you are probably right! Thank you for the note about Kanesdahlen. Yes, I bet you are correct in suggesting Kaardal may be in the Kanesdahlen valley. Eilev's father was from Kaardal and all of his children were born on Kaardal.
