Trine Johanne Hansen, born 1839 in Fredrikshald
Hello,
I am looking for any information (birth, confirmation, marriage, death, children) for the following person:
Trine Johanne Hansen, born ca. 1839 in Fredrikshald/Halden
Here is the only information I already have.....
Birth of her daughter, Inga Marie Jensen on 18 Mar 1877
#60
Kildeinformasjon: Østfold fylke, Halden, Ministerialbok nr. I 9 (1866-1877), Fødte og døpte kvinner 1877, side 108.
Permanent sidelenke: http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:kb_read?i ... _side=-113
I think this is the same Trine Johanne Hansen in the 1865 census:
http://digitalarkivet.no/cgi-win/webcen ... &merk=5358
I would like to know where she came from and what became of her.
Mvh,
Brian

Re: Trine Johanne Hansen, born 1839 in Fredrikshald
Hi Brian
In the 1865 census Trine is married, but not living with her husband.
There is a Trine Johanne Hansdatter who is married Nov 17, 1865 in Halden.
No 48:
http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:NBN:no-a1 ... 030189.jpg
and no 49:
http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:NBN:no-a1 ... 040333.jpg
Her husband is Iver Svendsen born ab. 1839 in Id. He is "Musikkorporal" (Music corporal). One of the bestmen is Hans Vold.
I believe this must be him in the 1865 census, married, but living without his wife as a lodger in the household of Hans Vold.
The father of Trine is difficult to reat in both church-books. In one I read Hans Branstrup and in the other I read Hans fra Hovedøerne (Hans from the Main islands). Not sure!
Correction: it is Hans fra Hvaløerne. (See Anne Merete's posting below) Hvaløerne probably is the place caller Hvaler today: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hvaler
When Inga is born, Trine is a widow.

Hi Lisbeth,
Thank you for the information, but the 1885 census shows that Trine Haakensen was already married to him before 1877 - when Trine Johanne Hansen was a widow.

Hi Vivi,
Thanks for the marriage record! I agree this must be the correct person, I have only seen one woman named Trine Johanne Hansen in Fredrikshald. Now I will look for the death record of her husband - which must be before 1877. I went through the confirmation records twice but can not find any birth info on Trine.
It looks to me like the name could me a spelling of "Brandstrup", which seems to come from Denmark. That might also explain what is meant by "the main islands".
Tusen takk!
Brian
P.S. I was in Norway this summer. My mother and her sister flew from America and we met them in Stavanger. We had a wonderful time!

Hi
Mistakes occur everywhere, also in church-books.
I thinke I might have found Trine Johanne, but entered as Trine Marie.
Trine Marie was an illegitimate child born Sept 27, 1839 and baptized March 15, 1840.
Her parents were widower Hans Brönstrup and unmarried girl Marthe Christensdatter.

Stavanger and the are around is very nice. Did you visit Prekestolen? (The pulpit)

Hi
Should have looked in both church-books before I posted!
In the Ministerialbok she is entered as Thrine Johanne, so this must be the correct girl.
Her father was captain of a ship.

Hi
A possible Hans Brønstrup in the 1801 census:
http://digitalarkivet.no/cgi-win/webcen ... &merk=2249
I noticed that I forgot to add the 1865 census for Iver Svendsen. (He is listed as Siver, but I believe it is him.)

Hi
Trine in the 1875 census with one of the twins; Oscar and a child Hanna.
Living in the same house as Inga's father Torval/Thorvald.
http://www.rhd.uit.no/folketellinger/ft ... 483&lnr=00
This must be Trine in the 1885 census with one of the twins; Frans Oscar:

Strange that Inga is not with them. And what happened to Carl Vilhelm?

According to the church records when Trine marries, her father Hans lives on Hvaløerne. Not Denmark.
He is born in Halden nr 68:
ildeinformasjon: Østfold fylke, Halden, Ministerialbok nr. I 2 (1792-1812), Fødte og døpte 1800, side 232-233.
Permanent sidelenke: http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:kb_read?i ... _side=-118
Here is a Brønstrupfamily in Halden, and Poul is may be Hans`father.

Re: Trine Johanne Hansen, born 1839 in Fredrikshald
Thank you very much Anne Merete and Vivi!
This has been a very confusing family, but now I think I have things sorted out. I was confused with Hanna Bolette Iversdatter because there was another girl with exactly the same name born in 1865 (to Iver Hansen instead of Iver Svendsen).
Trine Johanne Hansen had a child named Inga Marie Jensen (born 18 Mar 1877) with Torvald Emil Jensen. In 1904 Inga Marie was living in Oslo (at the police station) with
her uncle Lauritz Eugen Jensen, who was married to her half sister Hanna Bolette Iversdatter. Now I finally understand why the probate in Oslo says that her uncle Lauritz Jensen was her brother-in-law!
Excellent research! Well done!
Tusen Takk!
