Manuel Olsen Smørbøl born April 1, 1879 in Åsnes, on the Smørbøl farm. Parents were Ole Halvorsen (born 15-3-1847)and Oline Berntsdatter(born 1853). Manuel's siblings were: Halvor Olsen(b.8-1-1874), Olaf Olsen(b.22-7-1876), Botoff Olsen(b.3-6-1881) Olea Olsen(b.14-3-1883), Olava Olsen(b.8-5-1885), Elen Olsen(b.22-5-1887), Orlaug Olsen(b.30-5-1889), Olaf Olsen(b.9-1-1892), Erik Olsen(b.13-8-1894), Trygve Olsen(b.22-9-1896), Ole Olsen(b.11-8-1898), Solveig Olsen(b.12-1-1900)

I have the 1900 census for this family and my grandfather Manuel's emigration record. I've checked out the church records from the Family History Center for Hof, Åsnes, and Våler and can't find any of these christening records. I also can't find marriage record for Ole and Oline. Any ideas as to where I could look next? I don't have anyone in the family I can ask, unfortunately.

A lot of the church records for Åsnes was lost in a fire in 1929. The records for 1848-1866 are completely lost. But for the time after 1866 I know they have tried to reconstruct the church books. These are of course not complete.
