Andrew was the son of Paul Ingebrigtsen Stove & Johanne Malene Arnesdtr. Drageset.
He had three sisters & one brother who also immigrated from Norway. His oldest sister was named Anne Paulsdatter Dragseth, she married Mathias Hansen Hegdal; the second, Kari Bertine Paulsdatter Dragseth, who married Abraham Larsen Hegdahl; the last one was named Dorthea Janikke Paulsdatter Dragseth & she married Abraham Hansen Hegdal. His brother Ingebrigt married Marie Elizabeth Forde & shortly after moved to Canada with his family. Andrew was the youngest.
Ole & Marie, his other brother & sister stayed in Norway.
Andrew married Christine Jensine Eliasdatter Seten 22 Mar 1900 in Lake County, SD.
This info was taken from a book called Native of Nordfjord History in America - Eighth Chapter - Madison, South Dakota - by Knud Pedersen & Abraham Severson. It was written back in the 1930's in Norwegian. I (S Meyer) translated it so it could have errors:).
Anders Drageseth (Dragseth), from Indviken, Norway, arrived here quite young in 1884. In the beginning of 1890 he bought 160 acres of land and was later married to Christi Seten, daughter of Elias Seten. They have 11 children and all are at home. He is owner of 240 acres.

Died New Year's Day Near Rutland
Funeral Services for the late Andrew E. Dragseth, who died on New Year's day at his home near Rutland, are to be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Lake Madison Lutheran church of which he had been an active member for more than 50 years.
Burial will be in the church-yard, where the Dragseths have a family lot. The body is at the Hallenbeck Funeral home.
Mr. Dragseth was born near Bergen, Norway March 27, 1868, and was 78 years of age. When he was 17 years of age he came to the United States and in 1894 bought a farm in Nunda township where he lived until the time of his death.
Married to Christina Seten, March 22, 1900, they were the parents of 11 children. Mrs. Dragseth and the following survive: Palmer, Elmer, Ingvald, Albert and Merlin Dragseth of Rutland; Edwin Dragseth of Madison; Joseph of Comfrey, Minn.; Josie at home; Mrs. Orville Burns, Nunda; Mrs. Floyd Jones, Sioux Falls; Mrs. Vernon Danielson of Hills, Minn.
There are also 13 grandchildren, and one sister who still lives in Norway.
Mr. Dragseth was among the substantial citizens of the northeast part of the county, active in civic and church work. He had been suffering from a cancer for several years and had been in considerable pain. Two years ago it became necessary to remove the right arm because of the ravages fo the disease.

Lake Madison is Scene of Rites
Lake Madison Lutheran Church was filled to capacity Sunday afternoon when friends and relatives gathered to pay a final tribute to A. P. Dragseth, prominent farmer andf active churchman, who was a resident fo the county since pioneer days.
There were many beautiful flowers and floral pieces in addition to 94 memorial gifts to various church funds. Included was $50 gift for new hymnals.
Music was furnished by Mrs. Arthur Johnson and Mrs. George Larson, who sang Mr. Dragseth's favorite hymns. Rev. A. P. Nelson spoke words of faith and comfort to the family and friends.
Burial was made in the family lot in the Lake Madison cemetery. Pall bearers were six sons, Elmer, Albert, Ingvald, Merlin, Joseph and Edwin Dragseth.
After the services, neighbors and friends served dinner at the Dragseth home to the mourners and friends who had come from out of town, including those from Sioux Falls, Watertown and other near by cities.
