Erik Erikson Sletten f. 31 July 1841 and relatives

I'm searching for information about my great grandfather Erik Erikson Sletten born 31 July 1841 to Erik Hanson (no date of birth) and Ingri Tollefsdtr Aaberg born 14 Sept 1814.

I know he was orphaned sometime between the age of 4 and 7 yr. What happened to his parents? How did they die? I know of no other siblings.

We also know that he was taken in by the Jens Dahl family. Who is Jens Dahl?

Erik was eventually married to Anne Knudsdtr Bakken after 1869 in USA after they emigrated. Also any emigration information ?

Anne Knudsdtr Bakken maternal grandparents were Dahl's. Any connections to Jens Dahl?

Did Jens Dahl emigrate to USA also?

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I am not sure if this is helpfull, but first I have searched records for burials in Nord-Aurdal from 1842 -1852 without finding any of his parents. Maybe I have missed something .

Then I am a bit confused: I found emigration record for one Erik Erikson Sletten 24/4 1869 from Oslo. But he was married to Marit Mikkelsdatter. They traveled together. On Family Search I found one Anne Knutsdatter Bakken, and she too was married in Norway. Is it possible that they both lost their spouses and remarried in USA?
