Ole Larsen from Holmestrand, Vestfold, Norway, a ship captain, died 13 Aug
1872 of cholera in Kronstad with no date of burial. Question 1-Where is
Kronstad? Question 2-Why no date of burial? Any help will be appreciated.
Thank you.

1)Kronstad may be in Russia - Kronstadt is the the name of a sea port on an
island off Saint Peterburg (Saint Petersburg, Russia were known Leningrad
in the Soviet Union for a while, but that was quite a few years later than
1872). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kronstadt

2) It seems unlikely that they would have the corpse of a man who died of
Cholera back to Norway for a funeral - he probably was burried somewhere
in Kronstadt, perhaps even in a mass grave - depends on how many people
died of Cholera at the time. That kind of information might not have made
it back to your source (Norwegian church book ?). Who knows ?
