Learning where in Norway

It can be frustrating when the records just say "Norway" without the town.

Just don't forget that your ancestor's siblings were probably from the
same town. If you find these in a census or obituary, check their records
and those of their children.

Maybe your ancestor's sister had a son who got married in the bride's
town, where the clerk or clergy wrote his mother's birthplace more
precisely.

That needs to be verified, but if accurate, it probably can be verified by
birth records in that Norwegian town.
