Hi,
I apologise if this is the wrong place to write this but this man has history in both Hedmark and Land and think it may need to be posted in both locations? I noted with interest an entry in Dis-Norge in 2008 regarding Guri Evensdatter b. 30/4/1826 in Vinjar, died 17/4/1879 in Birid. She was married to Ole Olsen (b. ca 1803) who was about 20 years older than her. They appear in the 1865 and 1875 census, living at QVÆRNRUD. Guri had an illegitimate daughter named Gunda Pedersdatter born 28 Jan 1850 in Nordre Land, baptised 24 Feb 1850, Nordre Land. Christening record states Gunda’s father as Peder Thoresen of Mengshoel via Nes, Hedemarken and mother as Guri Evensdatter Vingar. I am currently trying to find who Peter’s parents were and also what happened to him. I don’t think he ever married Gunda’s mother as I have been unable to locate any marriage documentation. I am trying to discover whether he returned to Hedmark or if he stayed in Land. I do not know his birth date and have guessed he was similar age to Guri so estimated his birth date as ca 1825. I do know that he was from farm Mengshoel in Hedmark prior to moving to Land as this appears on daughter Gunda’s christening record. Gunda immigrated to New Zealand with husband Erik Olsen and is buried at Norsewood

Thankyou for any help,
Kymm

Hello.

Here is the link to Gunda, born 28/1-1850. Oppland. Torpa Nordsinni Østsinni i Land:

Kildeinformasjon: Oppland fylke, Torpa, Nordsinni, Østsinni i Land, Ministerialbok nr. 10 (1847-1859), Fødte og døpte 1850, side 18.

Maybe Peder Thoresen went back to Hedemark Nes (Næss) and got married there and after a few years he and his family went back to Oppland.

Can this be "your" Peder Thorsen. Census 1865. Oppland. Vardal/Gjøvik:

Snedker = Carpenter.

His daughter, Caroline, is 16 years old, but she is 15 years old.
Caroline is born 22/11-1850. Hedemark. Nes (Næss). No.61:

Hi there,

Thank you so much for your help and yes I believe that is definitely 'my' Peder Thoresen!!! Too much coincidence for it not to be the same person.

Hello.

Peder Thoresen with family, 4 sons, emigrated to North Amerika 1868 (on the right page)No. 4,5,6,7,8,9:

Kildeinformasjon: Oppland fylke, Vardal, Ministerialbok nr. 7 (1867-1878), Utflyttede 1868, side 342.

I can not find them emigrated from Oslo, just Helene Guldbrandsdatter, she is married, and emigrated 1/5-1869 ?:

Looks like Peder Thoresen is dead before 1881. Here is Helene remarried and mother of groom,Peter Thoresen, in 1881 Pigeon, Wisconsin USA:
